Vilnius is extremely safe, quiet city. Transportation is very comfortable and it is easy to get from one point to another. In 2 days, it is possible to complete the city tour. First day: the Church of St. Peter and Paul, Monument of Three Crosses, Gediminas Castle Tower and the second day Old Town and the churches, streets, squares in Old Town can be explored. Pilies Street, the Orthodox Church of Holy Spirit are must-see locations.
Posted: September 2, 2024Experienced: July, 2024I traveled to Vilnius with a group of friends and managed to stay there for 6 days. From my experience, I can tell that we overall felt safe during our trip, and were very excited about tourist sightseeings. Vilnius is a vibrant city with interesting spots, restaurants, history, people, and culture.
Posted: August 24, 2024Experienced: August, 2023I felt incredibly safe in Vilnius. I don’t say this lightly m but I never felt this safe walking around at night (I was with another person though). Not once where we cat called and not once where we even given a weird look. I can’t even say the same for my home town! Vilnius is so beautiful and everything is so cheap there (you can comfortably pay with euro 😍). The city centre has a mall where they have a bubble tea store where they serve rose slushies (best thing I ever had the honor to taste).
Posted: August 11, 2024Vilnius is a very cozy little town, with various hygge cafes and restaurants (one cute cat cafe among them!). Ancient streets and sights, if you like to stroll along beautiful narrow streets while stopping for a coffee here and there - that’s your kind of place!
Posted: August 6, 2024I visited places including Uzupis, Soho nightclub, and the Lithuanian Gay League center. There are many backpacker hostels, walking tours, and good affordable food. Culturally people are not very "smiley" but that does not mean they are unkind or unhelpful.

Vilnius is always great 🫶 I adore this city and it’s really worth visiting during any season. Great people, nice traditional cuisine and Old Town makes you go back in time. Every time I leave, I immediately want to go back :) There are many options for exploring the city and the country itself, for shopping, activities and anything you like during trips.
Posted: April 18, 2024I only spent two days there. At the MO Museum at that time, there was a contemporary art exhibition about Vilnius, which gave me some idea of what artists think about this place. I saw Literacka Street, Zarzecze (an alternative state, which even has its own charming constitution) and as for cafes, I recommend Elska Coffee.
Posted: October 14, 2023I have been to Lithuania several times. Their capital, Vilnius, is incredibly charming and beautiful, full of historical and cultural attractions to see. The city of Trakai, about 30 minutes away from Vilnius, is stunning and very lively in the summer, and it is also home to the famous and beautifully restored old castle. Kaunas is a smaller city, but I definitely recommend visiting it too. The infrastructure between the main cities is great, and their tram/bus network reaches most parts of the country in a reasonable time. Generally speaking, the country has a very unique atmosphere, very friendly people, and has a lot to offer.
Posted: February 14, 2023I loved Vilnius when I went there at the end of February. You can see a lot on foot, the people are friendly, the cost of living is affordable, the list of advantages is long. I stayed at the Jimmy Jumps hostel and I was very comfortable there.
Posted: December 16, 2022I loved my trip to Vilnius. I really enjoyed visiting Trakai and the castle. It's a taxi ride, but a beautiful one. During my stay in the city, I loved the old town and just walked the streets, watching the graffiti. I visited the Museum of Freedom Fighters and the Museum of Illusions along with the castle.

Depends on the area you’re in. In broad daylight its safe but after dark drunk people might scare you. There are some cases where weirdos approach you but that’s only 1% chance. I think you should stay in more open areas rather than walking through sketchy walkways.

Very safe comparing to other EU countries. Safe to walk at night, just stay aware of walking around weird people but they are not harmful. It is safe to get into taxis, have not heard any accidents happened.
