Waterbury is a beautiful historic district. Although there are crimes in Waterbury, they are targeted crimes. I have never experienced an issue living here as a young woman, and I am only 23. If you walk alone at night, you might come across a dog, or maybe even a bear. That’s about it.

Some parts of Waterbury are absolutely fine, but you definitely need to know where you’re going because it’s a small city. There are areas you should avoid and you shouldn’t ever walk alone at night in Waterbury.
