Is Rapid City safe for solo female travelers?

Rapid City, is generally a safe place for solo female travelers. The locals are friendly, the crime rate is relatively low compared to other American cities, and there is a reputable local police presence. There are lots of activities that can be enjoyed day and night. However, it’s still important to take common safety precautions, such as not walking alone late at night and maintaining a high awareness of your surroundings as you would do anywhere else.

How safe is Rapid City for solo female travelers?

Group travel

I have been here before and the experiences have always been good. However, it is quite easy to get in the wrong area with the wrong people. I wouldn’t recommend this area for a solo traveler for an extended period of time. However, the attractions in the area are quite fun (Bear Country, Mt. Rushmore, Wall Drug, etc).

How safe is Rapid City for women?

Rapid City is a fairly safe city. Small population and rural. Typically, the places that would be considered less safe are in areas that tourists wouldn’t travel. You should still always be aware of your surroundings when you’re out drinking downtown as there’s always one or two people who can’t seem to control themselves. Overall though, I rarely feel unsafe with people and situations here

Rapid City is safe but has its areas, there’s like a certain line that you shouldn’t walk by yourself in that area so from like Omaha street and to the north from there don’t walk alone just lots of homeless population that gets kind of wild.
