Porterville is a very conservative little town. Major population is white or hispanics with a good mix of Philippines. It is mostly farm land and oranges (: People here are pretty calm and has grown in size over the year. We have plenty of cops around the area and always patrolling. I don't fear walking on the west side of town which is the nicer part so I would recommend finding a spot on this side of finding accommodation with someone who has their home away from the east side of the city.
