It's safe enough. Just stay clear of the tweakers down Oro Dam Blvd and in the neighborhood just south. Might get your wallet taken out of your hand if you're just standing there drunk on the sidewalk not paying attention, but I don't think there's much violence.
Posted: May 13, 2026Oroville was once a retirement community so there are a lot of older, nice people who like keeping their homes and properties safe. Now there are a lot of younger people and families moving in and creating a younger life in the town. There are lots of fun things to do and it’s overall safe in this town. I have lived here most of my life and big, scary things haven’t happened here.
