Overall Los Angeles is safe- as a woman the main areas I would avoid I labeled which are- Skid Row in downtown and Mcarthar park- both are sites of homeless encampments and heavy drug use. Which can lend to a lot of mental health issues. Other than that- most areas people are welcoming and kind. Los Angeles is definitely in a housing crises but it’s still a liveable and welcoming city. If you don’t have a car there is a metro and bus system that keeps expanding. Lots of lovely hikes throughout the city and nature moments that are always safe too.

LA depends on where you go. Don’t go downtown and expect it to be the safest area. Of course the more inland you get the safer it tends to be with the SF valley being family friendly. The coast is gorgeous and genuinely safe but just keep your wits about you.

Pretty safe, I like leaving here. I def don't like to go out at night, but I still feel pretty safe, no complaints, no homeless people. And a lot of vendors of delicious food. Definitely recommend it

There are really safe areas in LA and more dangerous spots in LA. It’s all about knowing where to go but generally taking an Uber if you are a safe being out and about during the day is pretty safe and just taking regular precautions with your personal stuff so you don’t get pickpocketed

Los Angeles has a high property crime rate. Be highly vigilant and modest. Don’t flash valuables or leave valuable items in sight in car. Ensure no one one is trailing your moves. Travel in pairs or more if walking at night. If solo, use transportation like Uber/lyft. Be careful on public transportation after dark
