Is Lexington safe for solo female travelers?

I’ve never felt unsafe in Lexington! I’m regularly downtown after dark and elsewhere in the city at night. It’s genuinely the safest place I’ve lived in. I’d say that as long as you’re aware of your surroundings you’re probably fine.

As a student who moved from Los Angeles to Lexington without knowing anyone here, it’s a very save and cute city! I’ve been here for 3 years, downtown is cute, (though one specific part has some homeless people). Overall, Lexington is a good size city for someone’s first time living away from home, everyone is nice and I’ve felt very safe!

Lexington really is a relative safe city. We are essentially a college town so any and everyone is invested in sports. I'd be lying if I said there is no crime, but you will be perfectly safe using street smarts. We thrive on hospitality and people mostly have a good intentions.
