Is Lexington safe for solo female travelers?

Lexington, can be considered quite safe for solo female travelers. While it's important to maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times anywhere you go, Lexington is widely known for its friendly locals and low crime rates, especially in daylight hours. Night-time can also be safe, but it's better to stick to well-populated areas. As with most places, it's important to use common sense and take standard precautions such as avoiding poorly lit or deserted areas at night.

Lexington really is a relative safe city. We are essentially a college town so any and everyone is invested in sports. I'd be lying if I said there is no crime, but you will be perfectly safe using street smarts. We thrive on hospitality and people mostly have a good intentions.

About me

Hi! I am Anfisa, I currently live and study full-time at a university in Virginia, United States. Aspiring bioengineer! have lived in South India for the past 2.5 years, where I attended the International School. I come from Russia, Siberia (beautiful mountains out there, oh gosh). I enjoy hiking, recently did a big backpacking week trip down the appalachian trail with my university friends. Over the summer, I had the experience of attending the Wilderness Rescue intense camp and learned a lot of leadership skills. I am a big traveller and thrilled to try new things in the States!
