We have a lot of drug users and homeless community but over all we are a pretty same city! The only times I would be careful is at night in our downtown area! But for the most part Lawrence is just a chill College town

Lawrence is a small college town but just 40 minutes from Kansas City. It is safe here but KC is less so. But the crime is also not terrible especially for non locals. Where tourists go is very safe.

Lawrence is a college town so for young adults I would say it’s pretty safe. College students are always walking around late and early morning on the weekends. However some areas of downtown can get a little sketchy at night. We have a bad homelessness problem for a small town. It is currently being worked on but just stay vigilant.
