Most of the crime here is related to the combination of low incomes + drugs in the under-30 crowd, mostly concentrated on the east side of town. So cars getting broken into, bikes getting stolen, that sort of thing. Anything violent is rarely between strangers. There are a few hotels I would absolutely avoid, they are set up a lot like homeless shelters, which says a lot. Grand junction is pretty safe… I’ve felt safe all around grand junction. I’m a paranoid girl so walking around at night by myself doesn’t seem like a fun time to me anyway but I’m sure you’d be perfectly safe to walk around at night:)
