Is Cincinnati Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

There are a ton of great restaurants in Cincinnati. For a unique dining experience, try eating at the Sacred Beast, they throw a twist on traditional. Try the lemony ricotta pancakes or the glazed pork belly

Generally safe, but downtown Cincinnati crime is ramping up. Lots of shootings and property theft. The outside neighborhoods can be rough around the edges such as Price Hill and Norwood. Just do your research before visiting certain areas.

Cincinnati and the many surrounding little cities are very safe in most places. There’s been an uptick in violent crime recently but it’s all been very targeted and doesn’t really worry me. It’s very safe to walk any of the downtown areas, and there are many with close to a dozen small cities bordering Cincinnati. Even after dark there are only a couple of places I wouldn’t walk alone, and they are limited to ten or fewer square blocks

Since I was a young g teenager I would sneak out at night, catch a bus and walk around downtown with my camera strapped to my shoulder, and I never felt unsafe. I walk home from work around 11-1 am without any weapons (is this smart? Maybe not) and while people tell me not to do this, I’ve never had any bad experiences. People here are kind. And maybe it’s because it’s too small of a city, and everyone knows everyone. Or Maybe Cinci is just one of a kind :)

I've only been here for 4 months now but I feel pretty safe here. Eventhough there are some people in the parks that seem to be on drugs or something. But they never really look at me. Sometimes the say something that I usually don't understand but I've never been followed by them and I don't feel unsafe.

Depends on what neighborhood you are in. Clifton, OTR, and Downtown are three of the neighborhoods that I would be cautious with visiting. It is okay to visit during the day but once dark, I would be aware your surroundings and belongings. As a woman, I would not walk alone in any of those neighborhoods

Cincinnati is generally safe for visitors. But you may have several locals wave you down to try to sell you drugs. Just keep moving, You may get robbed, especially in the downtown area. Its best to have a travel companion with you. If not, Stick to yourself and stay in well lit populated areas.
