Cedar City is a very small town so it’s very safe to live and raise children in. I have never faced any discrimination there, no abuse, no robbery. The majority of people are really kind, helping and open minded But keep in mind that Utah is highly religious state, so maybe if you are an atheist you may feel pressured to talk a lot about God there (for me as a spiritual person it is not disturbing, but rather interesting and fun)
