Boulder is mostly safe on the surface. There are some issues with people harassing others in places like the Boulder Creek multi-use paths and on Pearl Street. In recent years, there have been seemingly more issues with public drug use and homelessness. While most of the homeless folks are not problematic at all, I have been chased down a very public area by a man. My roommate was followed by a naked man in our neighborhood near downtown Boulder. I don't recommend women to travel the bike paths alone at nights. However, you should be fine in a group and during the day. Bike theft is a HUGE problem. Do not leave bikes unattended, and use a very good U-lock if you do!!
Posted: December 24, 2024Boulder is a very safe place to explore and recreate as a woman. I do a lot of outdoor things solo and have never felt unsafe. I practice situational awareness everywhere I am and always trust my instincts.

Hi, I'm older than a girl, but I saw this on TikTok and it's a great idea! I just retired and I've traveled jyst a little bit so far. I've thought about joining the Home Exchange program, but this looks less formal, maybe easier?
