How safe is Boise?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Safe

Boise is generally regarded as a safe city, even at night. Like any city, it has areas that are safer than others, but overall crime rates are low compared to other U.S. cities of similar size. Walking alone at night in well-lit, populated areas such as downtown is typically safe. However, as with any situation, it's important to be aware of your surroundings, avoid poorly lit or deserted areas at night, and always trust your instincts.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Safe

Boise is generally a very safe city and public transportation is no different. The city buses, managed by ValleyRide, are reliable, punctual, and well-maintained. Station and vehicle security is a priority, so incidences of petty crime are very low. Night services are less frequent but security remains high. Nonetheless, as with all public transportation, maintain awareness of your surroundings, particularly during off-peak hours.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Boise is generally considered safe and respectful towards solo female travelers. Street harassment is relatively low compared to most large cities. As with any location, it's essential to remain vigilant, particularly at night or in isolated areas. Nevertheless, the residents are typically friendly, ensuring a mostly comfortable travel experience for females navigating the city alone.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Low

Boise is generally a safe city with a low incidence of petty crimes. However, like in any urban area, there may occasionally be instances of pickpocketing or minor theft, especially in crowded public spots or tourist areas. Always stay alert, particularly when carrying valuable items, but overall you should feel quite secure while visiting the city.

I have never had a problem walking alone or by myself at night in Boise, I walk home in the dark from work and I have never had an issue. There is some thefts on the college campus, but never violent.

It's very safe, never had anything happen in my neighborhood and I can feel safe waking around at night by myself. I absolutely love where I live and wouldn't change it for the world. I love traveling but Boise is always my forever home.

About Me

I am currently solo traveling by petsitting! I quit my job in the states to travel for a few months bc I didn’t know if I would be able to do so in the future (in light of the current US administration). So, here I am! I like to hike, go to book stores and museums, and try local food. Most importantly, I just like to be with someone and talk while we walk around exploring sights and taking pictures. I’m not a big drinker, so I don’t really do any partying, but I love to hangout with people and get to know them over some food and wine. I also like to play games and talk about books! Also, I’m an amateur photographer so I’ll be your bestie that takes bomb ass pics of you 😁
