It’s safe in the safe (rich) areas but also be mindful. I’ve lived here my whole life that’s why it probably feels safer to me than someone that’s not from here. I just try to mind my business and watch what i do. I don’t try to walk around at night alone too many places
Posted: September 5, 2024Baton Rouge is relatively safe! Just like most places, just be mindful of your surroundings at night. The people are friendly and helpful so don’t be shy to ask. Louisiana is best known for its southern hospitality and enjoy meeting visitors.
Posted: July 30, 2024There are good areas and there are bad areas in Baton Rouge. But crime can happen anywhere, and quickly. The safe areas are generally LSU, Perkins, Essen, Downtown, Burbank, and Bluebonnet. The unsafe areas are Plank Road, South Baton Rouge, Scenic, and Sherwood. There are a lot of break-ins, shootings, drug use/sales, and robberies in the unsafe areas. There have been shootings on the interstate from road rage or ongoing conflict. There has been a shooting at the mall of Louisiana between gang rivals. Keep your eyes peeled and don’t go out in an unsafe area after dark.
