Safety - depending on where you stay. I picked an Airbnb in the middle of the forest and I arrived at night - don’t do something like that cuz I struggled to find the house. The house itself was good though once I found it. 

I rented a car to travel through Acadia. You can probably do it with their public park transit but obviously it’s less flexible. 

Would highly recommend the sunrise / sunset at the summit.

10/10 would recommend the beehive hike! I went with a friend to watch the sunrise on this hike and it was AMAZING! It was such a beautiful national park. Be careful if it has just rained though! The hikes get slippery.
