Ivano-Frankivsk is quite safe, but it is worth avoiding some neighborhoods (especially Pasichna or Kaskad) at night. Some places are not well-lit and can feel quite scary (especially when some drinking crowds gather there).
Posted: February 5, 2026Overall it’s pretty safe, just keep in mind that Ukraine is in war. There are shelters available for anyone, sometimes they provide you with a safe passage to one if you are inside the cafe or restaurant. It’s safe overall, but me mindful of drivers and walking alone in night time. City can be busy at night, so best stay walking in spaces that are decently lighted up. Parks are a big no at night, especially if you are alone.
Posted: June 26, 2025I truly enjoy this city because it feels safe. When you walk around, you can be sure that you’ll be alright, but after dark it’s better to be more careful. I haven’t had any bad experiences, but I still try to be more cautious and avoid deserted places
