Neuchâtel is a city known for its high standard of safety, which is quintessential Swiss. The crime rate is very low, and the locals are extremely welcoming and helpful. I believe it’s safe, of course you have to be careful in the night but it isn’t weird for me returning late past midnight and I haven’t had any problems. Overall coming from another country to Swiss here it’s peaceful but it’s important to stay cautious.

Switzerland in general is very safe. Neuchâtel is also a pretty small city and a lot of people know each other, so I feel very safe around here. I have probably never felt as safe anywhere else. It is also very easy to use a bike as transportation, and I always feel safer when I have my bike with me.

Neuchâtel is a very safe place for women. It's a small town, but with a University, hospital and direct access to the lake. It's calm and beautiful. Come visit here if you want to experience the peace.

About me

🇬🇧 English Hi! My name is Fátima and I’ll be 24 very soon. I’m originally from Spain, but I’ve lived and studied in France for several years. I just moved to Neuchâtel, Switzerland, about a month ago. I really enjoy nature and doing things with my hands—like painting, drawing, or working with clay. I love learning new languages and speaking them! I studied French philology, and I’m currently doing a Master’s degree to teach Spanish as a foreign language. I also enjoy chill plans like going out for a drink or just having a picnic in the park while playing board games. I love reading, seeing art, visiting museums — and of course, I’m passionate about travelling!
