It’s very safe in Linköping in general but would avoid certain areas at night, for example Skäggetorp and Berga. Other than that you don’t have to worry. Some instances happen but are rare. It would be even more rare if you only visit some time and doesn’t live here.

In Linköping there are a few areas with high criminality, however that is mostly between gangmembers and will not affect any tourists in the center of the city. Areas to avoid living or being in are Skäggetorp and some parts of Ryd and Berga. Otherwise your stay should be safe!

I would say that Linköping is quite a safe place. Generally people are nice although Swedes are not always so open at first :) I would not be scared going here as a female solo traveller. There are some areas to avoid but if you stay central it's normally not a problem :)
