Piešťany are mostly dead near midnight, only people on the streets are either rebellious teens, older drunk people or homeless people. I personally think that because of the lack of life in the town, it's relatively safe- but- I tend to avoid bars, casinos and the park after dark😄 One can never be too safe. Pickpocketing personal belongings isn't that big of a deal, but stay vigilant if you think someone is being suspicious. But NEVER leave luggage, bags, bicycles, phones, jewelry, ..., unattended. There's an 80% chance you'll never see it again😅 Thankfully the police works reliably, and the locals are mostly nice and welcoming.
Posted: July 21, 2025Quite small town. Very safe for travelers. I would avoid going running by the river after dark as there are only few lights, but during the day everything is fine. The local small woods is good for a walk but there are no lights, so I would avoid that place if I was alone. Overall this is very safe town.
Posted: December 27, 2024Piešťany are a beautiful, small spa town that is very safe. The people here are friendly and alcohol is cheap 😂 If you happen to lose something, there’s a high chance you’ll never see it again, but at least no one here will steal things from your hands like in other big cities.

I love my hometown. Piešťany is a spa city filled with a lot of cafes where people like to hang out. I believe this city has the potential to be more appealing to tourists and locals as there are a lot of people trying to organize events and stuff. Definitely recommend visiting this city during some traditional festivals. When it comes to safety, it's quite safe, but I do have to add that I was not that much into the club scene, so I can't talk about that experience here. My favorite coffee spots: Concept (in Arta center) Mlynček (under Kolonáda and close to the cinema Fontána) It's a nice city to relax and do some cycling and kayaking
