Vicenza is a pretty safe city. Walking alone during the day is perfectly safe, after dark in the late night I would only avoid the train station area. I have to say that there is often police around just to overlook the area so it's really uncommon that something bad could happen. In 34 years that I live here I've always felt perfectly safe going around alone.

During the day you can feel the safest. I never feel scared to leave my belongings in the chair of a cafe when i use the restroom or in the table of the library when i have a break from studying. I feel safe walking around the city dressed as I wish, men are quite respectful, besides some exceptions when people comment your appearance verbally. But in some areas sometimes in the night there is a low risk to get robbed if you are alone.

Vicenza is a small city in northern Italy. Nothing happens. Everyone is chill and i have never been disturbed by a man. I have also walked the streets in the night all alone and nothing happened. Come here.
Posted: January 9, 2025The overall safety of the city is very good. Even at night, I have personally never experienced being mugged, assaulted, or raped. Unfortunately, you might experience catcalling if you move around alone in the dark, even if you're in a group of girls; it's less likely during the day. In any case, I would advise against lingering too long in areas near the train station, where the crime rate is higher. I often walk around the city alone during the day, and I have never had bad experiences. Past traumas and simply being a woman do not make me feel 100% safe when night falls, unless I am in the company of trustworthy people, preferably including men.

kinda safe if u stay in the city center or in the country side… there are just some neighborhoods u have to avoid, streets, buses and trains are safe after sunsets too… but be careful anyways, you never know sometimes in the city center some old men will come to you and talk to you or cat call you at some point, just ignore them or give them a disgusted look and they’ll probably go away or shut the hell up… if he keeps on harassing just go in a bar o a place where there are people, they won’t follow you.
