For me, Udine is a beautiful city. I find the city center quite safe: during the day there are no problems, you can walk around without worries. At night it’s better to stay a bit more alert, but that’s the same everywhere. The area around the train station, however, is not very nice—I consider it less safe and usually avoid it.
Posted: September 17, 2025Overall, Udine is a wonderful and safe city, however it can become unsafe in the area of the train station and the near bus station. You should definitely avoid that area, especially at night or in the evening, when there are not a lot of students around.
Posted: August 4, 2025Udine is quite safe as a city. Depends on the zones you are in, but except for the station it is quite calm and safe. At night it could happen to see some drunk guy even in the center but there are police cars going around so it should remain safe
Posted: May 28, 2025Udine is a town with 90.000 inhabitants. I feel really safe in most places within the city. There are only some areas ( which are far from the city centre and usually of no interest for tourists) which maybe can be a bit dodgy for a woman travelling solo. You should also be careful of alone near the train station at night after 11.00 pm. But actually there are Police Cars often patrolling the streets so It Is quite safe. All in all Udine is a very safe Town .
