Went to Pisa to see a long distance friend of mine, i had already been there with my family when i was younger, i remember the main place (where the leaning tower is) was really busy with tourists and the bars near there were expensive, but if you stay for the night and go to the city center (10 min walk from the tower) you will find lots of shops, ice cream bars, etc. There are many many university students from all over italy and they usually all meet up in these bars. I felt safe with my friends both during the day and night, some creepy drunk men at very late night but just dont go near them… overall tho a very beautiful city!!

I found it to be a moderately safe city. The city was quite clean and well-maintained. Having a coffee in front of the tower was a delightful experience. It's a smaller city, easy to navigate. Overall, I enjoyed my time there.

Group travel

Pisa is a historic town, I didn't experience any other activities apart from looking at the Pisa tower and eating at nearby restaurants. I also visited other cities like Venice during the same trip which offered much more like glass making workshops, gandola rides etc. Also, I got mugged there as someone stole my wallet from by bagpack eventhough it was on my back all the time, till this day I fail to understand how they did it!

I made a quick stop for one night in Pisa while I was on my way to Genova and I loved it. The city is not so big so I easily managed to see most of it in one day. There’s a lot of tourists and people in the street so is pretty safe, but obviously I was always keeping an eye around me. The ticket to visit all the monuments and museums costs €27 and you can use it the hole day, it’s a nice activity for women who travels solo. I stayed in Safe Stay Hostel, staff is super nice and kind, and the place was clean and offer everything you could need. Truly recommend to do a quick stop in Pisa✨

I felt safe. Pisa is overall one of the most safe towns I visited alone. Local food is great and it is not very expensive. People are polite and helpful. Streets are clean. The airport is very close to the city centre.

The museum and the Duomo in the cathedral square are charming. I also really liked the botanical gardens. But besides that, I didn't find much to do there. It's definitely worth a visit, I felt very safe there. I recommend staying in Florence and taking a day trip to Pisa.

Overall Pisa is not a dangerous city. It’s lived mostly by university students and young people, so it’s quite calm and you can walk at night alone without worrying that much, but of course you always have to be a little bit careful especially in places like the train station.

Pisa is not that dangerous but there are some areas that need a little more attention. In the city center you should be safe, near the train station maybe a girl shouldn't walk alone. In the daylight I think it's safe everywhere, maybe some areas just a bit of catcalling but nothing serious.

I studied ‘Sustainable Mobility and Cycling Planning’ and my work is about making transport in our cities more sustainable - which is a real challenge! I love walking through cities, looking at architecture, reading (especially novels and fantasy) and swimming. I like to cook and bake - sometimes with a glass of wine or gin ;-) I like dancing, especially salsa, and going out for a drink. I am an open person, animal lover and like to meet new people.
