Pescara is generally safe, but areas near the train station and central bus terminal may have higher rates of petty crimes like pickpocketing. Some southern coastal areas could see more drug-related issues (the area that we call “ferro di cavallo” (=horseshoe), called like this from the horseshoe-shaped layout of the streets or buildings in that area, and “Rancitelli”) It’s best to stay aware of your surroundings and avoid poorly lit areas at night.

People may stare if you look different (blonde, pale, etc) but they are just curious and very friendly. The area around the station may seem a bit dodgy and probably best to avoid late at night but otherwise very safe here.
