Is Lucca safe for solo female travelers?

Lucca is a small city in the center of Tuscany. Very touristy during summer but very calm and nice during the rest of the months. I’d suggest to go there as a solo female traveler because it’s very safe, but I’m speaking as an Italian, so, as a foreigner keep in mind that you’re in Italy!

I would consider Lucca safe because it’s not that big of a city and the people here are very nice. During Lucca Comics however there are so so many more people and it becomes way more chaotic. Overall, I would say it’s safe for women!

Lucca is a really safe place. Most of the people that live there are families and old couples. Still, in summer months is bussy with tourist but the city cares a lot about the image they have, so criminality is really well address.
