Is Israel safe for solo female travelers?

Israel is generally safe for solo female travelers. It is a progressive country with respectful locals and a good public transportation system. However, safety can slightly fluctuate depending on the political situation. Israel has strict security measures that can sometimes be intimidating, particularly at borders and airports, but these measures are in place for everyone’s safety. Exercise common sense and situational awareness just as you would in any other country. Consider travel in groups or tours if you are unsure or uncomfortable.

Ein Bokek, Solo travel

I travelled alone to the Dead Sea destination on a pre-booked transfer, that brought me and other travellers to the hotels. My hotel was ‘Oasis Spa Club Dead Sea Hotel -18 plus’, i think it’s the best place to stay there in this budget category. Very modern and stylish. I recommend for total relax and cute pics ☺️ The dead sea beaches are near, all sunbeds are free of charge. This recreation area of the country is popular with elder people, and mostly women, so this is the safest place to travel alone. Every grandma will admire you there 😀

Jerusalem, Solo travel

I felt unease most of the time. While at salt lake, outside Jerusalem of course, perverts were taking pictures of naked women there. While back at the city, local markets kept flirting with me(I was below 18 yrs old), even when I said i had a partner. Also heard some racist things thrown around so it was just odd. Nature is stunning tho.

Israel, Family travel

I took my mom to Israel in June and we just spent some time with my friends there. We felt safe and people are amazing there. It’s my forth times to go to Ein Gedi and my mom’s first time. There are too many places worthy to explore especially some hidden gems brooks where only locals know. Don’t miss out the warm hummus, fresh fruits, and Arabic coffee in Damascus gate (First shop at entrance of the right ally)

Jerusalem, Group travel

I went in 2016, so I felt relatively safe. It was with a large, organized group, so there were other people around at all times. We stayed in a hotel and then mostly explored the city on foot. This city is truly unique and I will never forget my visit. There is so much to explore and admire, the three days we stayed felt insufficient. I would absolutely recommend you visit.

Israel, Couple travel

In general Israel felt safe and people were super nice and helpful.I've had so much luck to be there before the new situation... even tho day before I came there were rockets attack.Still it felt safe.I've stayed in Tel Aviv wich reminded me kinda experience in Barcelona.happy people playing on the beach... food was really good but in general expensive.after Tel Aviv I've visited Jerusalem and it was magic for me.Western wall is good to visit during weekend at night where you can find only locals.entire area is way nicer than during the day.walking around closed stores felt like in video game =) labyrinth. I also had a chance to go to dead sea.Wich I recommend to be there in the afternoon and go back by the evenings, experience is nice but there is not much to do besides laying in the water. The way from Jerusalem to dead sea is also amazing. I've spend just 4 days in Israel, if I had a chance I would love to come back and visit Eilat as well

Israel

Israel is overall very safe. The people are very kind. Still, Israel is in the middle east and does not have peace with most of the countries around it. Sometimes we have missiles fired to the country or terror attacks inside. The Israelis are very aware of these and know how to act and where to go when these things happen. So I will sum up - the things that women traveler are usually afraid of are not that common in Israel (SA, Rape etc.). But we have different kind of problems.

Tel Aviv-Yafo

Tel Aviv is pretty safe to walk around during the day and night. Of course, there are areas I wouldn't recommend walking around at night. But buses and trains are safe at all hours including at night.

Kafr Yasif

It’s not that safe in Israel overall, we have a high crime rate among Arab. We are not safe either because of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. There is racism everywhere and I don’t want to even begin talking about the wars.

Dvir

This is a safe place. It's called Kibbutz and it's like a little village where everyone knows everyone, there is a fence surrounding the place with a gate. People are nice, there is a big community and everyone is welcome

Ashkelon

Overall great city to live in, great beaches, lots of caffes and stores. Theres an amzing big park, and lots of smaller once, the public transport is not super reliable but still very acessible, train station and buses. Lots of outside gyms and a couple of new shoping centers. Small veriaty of hotels tho and probably no hostels at all. Very close to another city Ashdod, Ashdod is bigger and has lots more activities, shoping centers and hotels.
