How safe is Nagpur?

Safety at night:

Safety at night:Moderate

Nagpur is relatively safe, and women should not generally encounter many issues even at night. However, as with any city, it's recommended to be vigilant and to take the usual precautions, especially after dark. Increasing safety conditions could include taking registered taxis or using trusted ride-hailing apps instead of walking alone at night. Well-lit and busy areas are typically safer than isolated or dimly lit streets. It's worthwhile to note that incidences of crime are usually higher during late-night hours, hence worth to be extra cautious or avoid walking alone altogether during these times.
Public transportation:

Public transportation:Moderate

Public transportation in Nagpur, is relatively safe for solo female travelers. It is generally recommended to travel during the day when buses and trains are typically packed. This helps minimize potential safety concerns. Auto-rickshaws and Ola/Uber cabs are very popular and convenient. However, it's important to be wary of your surroundings, especially during late evenings and nights. Overall, while the public transportation system is widely used and reliable, maintaining caution and staying aware of your environment is advised.
Street harassment:

Street harassment:Low

Nagpur is generally considered a safe city with respectful locals, however, like any city around the globe, harassment isn't completely unheard of. Occasional unwanted attention and stares perhaps might be experienced, particularly in busy, crowded areas. It is always advised to stay alert, avoid isolated areas, especially at night, and dress modestly respecting the local culture, to minimize any potential issue.
Petty crimes:

Petty crimes:Moderate

In Nagpur, petty crimes like pickpocketing or purse snatching can occur, especially in crowded areas. Although not tremendously high, it's advised to be always aware of your surroundings, secure your belongings, and not to flash expensive items in public. Locals are generally helpful, but it's best to maintain caution especially when traveling alone.

Group travel

I went with a group I found on Facebook that have become my friends now! We had tiger safari, and we roamed around the jungle in the jeep for hours! Super fun, great food, amazing service and great memories we had 😌

Nagpur compared to some cities is fairly safe. People might stare for a little while but rarely anything happens. Though keep and eye out and beware of snatchers. The nights here are fairly non happening, so keep in mind that you might not find a cab at night
