I highly recommend visiting Chennai as a starting point for a South India trip. It is a fascinating city with beautiful sights and colorful houses, friendly people and great food. I recommend visiting Marina Beach at sunrise, then move on to Kapaleeshwarar temple (tour buses arrive around 10am and it's really peaceful before that), and then having a nice South Indian breakfast which will keep you going until dinnertime. I felt perfectly safe and comfortable in Chennai. 5 stars 🤩
Posted: March 1, 2025Experienced: January, 2025Yes, I felt safe exploring and learning about new places and experiences. I highly recommend visiting the Santhome Cathedral Basilica Church; it's an amazing place. Also worth a visit is the Golden Beach near Snow Kingdom, which is one of the best attractions in Chennai. Other notable places include the Jayalalitha Memorial, Marina Beach, ECR Beach, Partha Saradhi Temple, Iscon Temple, Snake Park, Lighthouse, and Guindy National Park. I particularly recommend experiencing the sunrise and sunset at the beach resorts – it's truly better than any other experience. Tamil Nadu is known for its temples and beaches, which are well worth visiting in various locations. I would love to go there again, but the humidity can make it challenging. Apart from that, there are fantastic hotels and affordable accommodation options available.
Posted: April 13, 2024Chennai surprised me! My ₹250/night hostel became my launchpad for exploring temples, museums, and delicious street food. Haggling in markets was a fun challenge, and free museums added to the cultural immersion. The ECR beaches offered serenity, while Matyasri Narayana temple's beachside location was unique. T Nagar's vibrant shops tested my bargaining skills, but the deals were unbeatable!

I'm Aishu, I recently moved to Chennai. I'm a graduate and ✨unemployed✨. I did my UG in Coimbatore and hands down the best hostel life, I have had there. Though, I wasn't very keen exploring cities and loved to rot in my comfy room for 3 years. I know. Pathetic🎀 So, Chennai is gonna be me redeeming myself and deciding to become Aishu-the-explorer💅 Three reasons why you should call me for a hangout: 1. I'm basically bitchless T_T 2. I goof around a lot, you wont be bored 3. I can be your protector💪🏻(Im 5 feet) I would love to connect with you all. Xx
