The first thing I wanna say is , don't travel in summer. Book uber/ other apps for tuk-tuks , otherwise you're gonna get charged like 200-400 rs for a few kms. Travel in local trains ,that's gonna save a lot. On the beach watch out of photo scams. Rest is good. The architecture, nature, people and food are really good.

I highly recommend visiting Chennai as a starting point for a South India trip. It is a fascinating city with beautiful sights and colorful houses, friendly people and great food. I recommend visiting Marina Beach at sunrise, then move on to Kapaleeshwarar temple (tour buses arrive around 10am and it's really peaceful before that), and then having a nice South Indian breakfast which will keep you going until dinnertime. I felt perfectly safe and comfortable in Chennai. 5 stars 🤩
Posted: March 1, 2025Experienced: January, 2025Yes, I felt safe exploring and learning about new places and experiences. I highly recommend visiting the Santhome Cathedral Basilica Church; it's an amazing place. Also worth a visit is the Golden Beach near Snow Kingdom, which is one of the best attractions in Chennai. Other notable places include the Jayalalitha Memorial, Marina Beach, ECR Beach, Partha Saradhi Temple, Iscon Temple, Snake Park, Lighthouse, and Guindy National Park. I particularly recommend experiencing the sunrise and sunset at the beach resorts – it's truly better than any other experience. Tamil Nadu is known for its temples and beaches, which are well worth visiting in various locations. I would love to go there again, but the humidity can make it challenging. Apart from that, there are fantastic hotels and affordable accommodation options available.
Posted: April 13, 2024Chennai surprised me! My ₹250/night hostel became my launchpad for exploring temples, museums, and delicious street food. Haggling in markets was a fun challenge, and free museums added to the cultural immersion. The ECR beaches offered serenity, while Matyasri Narayana temple's beachside location was unique. T Nagar's vibrant shops tested my bargaining skills, but the deals were unbeatable!

Chennai welcomes all! It's the best place for women with security cameras everywhere and culture entwined locations to explore. Perfect for vegans, vegetarians and non vegetarians. We have free bus facility only for women and metro connecting the important points of the city.

The area is generally safe during the morning and daytime hours when there's more activity and visibility. However, at night, it’s important to stay cautious, avoid isolated spots, and be alert, but overall it's a great place.
Posted: June 11, 2025Chennai is a place where it’s a mix of all race and culture people who has build a safe space ! Here people can easily navigate through without hassle. One thing tho ! Not just Chennai any place has mix of both good and bad we should be careful
Posted: May 29, 2025Chennai is fairly safe. Though I wouldn't trust 100%. I recommend sticking with the women you know and trust. People are very hospitable and kind. Usually construction sites are scary and there are a lot of open ones. Always travel with the local police emergency number just in case, here it's 100. I've not seen many robberies here but please be careful in crowded areas since children are trained to steal small purses or something easy to go unnoticed. Also don't interact with the people or children waiting by the traffic lights asking to buy their stuff like the coloring books or small toys.
Posted: May 3, 2025Chennai isn’t too bad tbh. It’s a busy city and there’s people around you all the time. It’s hard to get caught in the middle of something really messed up. The people around are usually nice and helpful.
