Is Dalmatia Safe for Solo Female Travelers?

I went to Dalmatia with my boyfriend in April of this year, just after submitting my PhD thesis. We flew into Split and also stayed in Makarska and a couple of small villages in the mountains. We visited Ljubuški in Herzegovina as well. I loved being in Dalmatia. The weather was perfect, the food amazing and the people incredibly hospitable and welcoming.
