Is Zhangye safe for solo female travelers?

Zhangye is generally a safe destination for solo female travelers. Like many parts of China, it is reasonably secure and locals are typically friendly and helpful. Visitors should still uphold standard safety precautions such as keeping personal belongings secure, avoiding isolated areas at night, and being aware of their surroundings, as minor incidents like pick-pocketing can still occur.
