That's China, it's very safe for all, even for foreigners! All the controlls they have is a huge benefit for the overall safety. Plus their sense of respect is pretty high. The only thing you could experience as a foreigner is elderly people being very curious about where you're from and why you're there. Some of them will ask you for a picture cus they've never seen a foreigner before.
