Is Chuxiong safe for solo female travelers?

Chuxiong, overall is a safe destination for solo female travelers. The people are generally warm and welcoming. Also, the crime rates are relatively low compared to other Chinese cities. However, as in any city, pickpocketing and petty theft can occur, so it is advised to practice typical travel safety precautions such as not flaunting valuable belongings in public places and being wary of your surroundings especially at night.
