Tournai is considered to be a safe city for solo female travelers. Largely a pedestrian city, it's easy to navigate and move around. Violent crimes are pretty rare and locals are usually friendly and ready to help if needed. However, normal precautions should be taken as in any other part of the world, such as not wandering solo at night in poorly-lit or deserted areas. But overall, it is a welcoming city for women traveling alone.
