I went to visit Brugge from Lille in February 2025 for a day. I fell in love with the town. It is straight out of a fairytale. I am not the biggest fan of solo travelling either, but i genuine loved roaming around by myself in this small but breathtaking town by myself. Going from one end to the other will not take you more than 30-40mins on foot. And every corner of it is so picturesque. You might also meet some amazing people, like the belgian painter i met who gave me a souvenir for free or the local sellers who were selling hand crafted jewelry from recycled products and gosh they looked so beautiful that I had to buy one!
Posted: May 1, 2025Experienced: January, 2025Bruges is an incredibly beautiful city; we have often felt very comfortable there. It's easy to park in the underground parking garages. Waffles from chefz Albert are a must. Just like the ice cream from Freds. Also, feel free to check out the market and drive to the sea in Bredene in the evening to see the sunset.
Posted: April 29, 2025Experienced: June, 2024Hi Bruge is a beautiful historical city. It has a magical quality. I loved the wafers and chocolate. It is also very safe and has a good transportation system. Their mos famous food is muscles. They also have a fruit flavored beer. People are very helpful.

Beautiful place and it indeed looks like a fairytale city. We went once by car and once by bicycle, the weather was good but be aware, the place is always packed, even thi we went on May and October! Only day it was okayish, was two weeks ago when we went night time, there was people but nowhere near daytime. Food not cheap but then, nothing is cheap in Belgium. A must-see in my opinion.
Posted: June 3, 2024Felt very safe even walking alone at night! Stayed in a mixed dorm hostel and also felt safe. Food was very delicious but a little expensive. Definitely get the museum pass!! And try free walking tours
Posted: February 2, 2024Bruges is beautiful, but after a walk there on the first evening, I felt like I had seen everything. I spent 2 days there and by the end I started to get bored.
Posted: December 30, 2023Brugia is good for one day, but then it becomes a bit boring, because it is so small and there is not much to do there. Despite this, it is worth going there, it's beautiful and safe.
Posted: December 28, 2023Bruges was beautiful and full of lovely chocolate shops. I spent there 2 nights and I felt that it was definitely not enough, because there were more museums that I would like to visit. I felt very safe.
Posted: April 30, 2023Bruges is like a dream. Incredibly beautiful, fantastic chocolate and great beer. Safe and easy to get around.
Posted: December 3, 2022I adored Bruges. It's one of my most beautiful memories from my travels. I was shopping in a lace shop in a medieval village and walked out to freshly falling snow. I felt like I was in a dream. It was so beautiful. I recommend climbing the bell tower. Amazing experience.

Its a really clean city with a lot of tourists. The only problem you could have are people that are drunk. Tourists love to try our drinks but they are really strong and they underestimate how drunk they can get. Overall I would say in the night people sometimes shout because they are drunk but I think that happens in a lot of cities.
Posted: April 17, 2025Bruges is a safe city. But as everywhere, if you’re walking alone at night as a girl, just be alert. I’ve been there a lot and never experienced criminality, not even pickpocket. It’s a beautiful city with nice architecture and lots of shops and restaurants.

Hi, I'm Kelly ☀️ I love to travel to explore new cultures, to enjoy the sun, and taste local flavours. 🥙 For me, travel is all about the perfect mix of culture, fun and meeting new people. ✈️ I enjoy spending my time dancing salsa and bachata, having a drink with friends or discovering a new craft beer. 💃🏼🍻 I have a soft spot for Spain 🇪🇸 Let's meet up and explore new places together. 🤝
