Safe. Beautiful. Affordable. You will enjoy your time. It's better to stay in the capital near the transport links. Bank cards aren't frequently used, so it's preferable to bring cash or exchange money upon arrival in Algeria. You're very welcome.

During day time, it's pretty safe if you stay in well populated areas and avoid the bad areas, you can commute safely without worrying at all whether on foot or in public transportation (beware of some pickpockets). It's generally not safe at all to take public transportation at night nor is it to walk outside after dark. It depends on the area though, some are very lively at night with great spots and restaurants and are pretty safe to be in but I would strongly suggest not going unless accompanied by a local who knows the safe places after dark. TLDR; Safety during day time: 8/10 (9.5/10 if you are in popular and well populated places) Safety during night time: 1/10 (just don't risk it, unless accompanied by a local)
