Rapid City, located in the state of South Dakota in the United States, is often known as the "Gateway to the Black Hills." Home to iconic historical monuments such as Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, it effortlessly combines American history with its wild frontier past. It's also famous for the Dinosaur Park, featuring life-sized dinosaur sculptures gracing a ridge overlooking the city. I have been here before and the experiences have always been good. However, it is quite easy to get in the wrong area with the wrong people. 

I wouldn’t recommend this area for a solo traveler for an extended period of time. 

However, the attractions in the area are quite fun (Bear Country, Mt. Rushmore, Wall Drug, etc).
