We spent about 10 days in Tenerife and traveled as a couple. We stayed in an upper-range hotel, so definitely not low budget. One of the best decisions we made was renting a motorbike and exploring the island that way—we visited lots of different beaches and enjoyed the freedom it gave us. One absolute must-see is the El Teide and the national park surrounding it. The ride through the park is beautiful and really enjoyable. Renting a car—or even better, a motorbike—is highly recommended. Just keep in mind that the roads in the rural areas can be very narrow. Aside from that, there are many beautiful spots and bays all around the island. We especially enjoyed visiting Garachico In the evenings, we mostly stayed in the more touristy areas, which felt lively and convenient for going out or grabbing dinner.

I did my ersus in tenerife and its incredible. Want to use this space to warn people to be RESPECTFUL with the locals!! Tenerife has a huge tourist problem and its local population is very concerned for it. Avoid airbnb and hotels, don’t go to loroparque (the owner is horrible) and respect the people that live there.
