Renowned for its unique blend of indigenous traditions and colonial-era architecture, the vibrant city presents visitors with a rich tapestry of culture, history, and beauty. Cobblestone streets lead to colorful markets full of local handicrafts, Mayan textiles, amber jewelry, and pottery which the city is famously known for. At its heart, the city is decorated with beautifully preserved Spanish colonial buildings such as Cathedral de San Cristóbal and the 16th-century church Templo de Santo Domingo. This place also serves as a gateway to the nearby Sumidero Canyon and the indigenous communities like San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, offering fascinating glimpses into pre-Hispanic customs and beliefs. This destination offers an exclusive experience of Mexican culture and tradition, making it a perfect spot for history buffs and culture lovers alike.

I lived here for 3 years. 
It is one of my favourite places on earth. A little vortex of all the best people. It’s a magical city that grants what you want even if you just think of it! So be careful what you wish for. 
I felt totally safe.
