Additionally, the state is known for its distinct handicrafts, particularly intricately painted Oaxacan wood carvings or 'alebrijes' and handwoven textiles. I visited Oaxaca, Mexico for the Guelaguetza Festival July 2025. It was a beautiful experience to witness such immense pride that Oaxacans expressed for their state's diverse heritage. I can't wait to go back!
