Hi, my name is Katya (a short form of my name), and I’m a violinist and photographer. In the upcoming academic year, I’ll be finishing my master’s degree in solo violin performance. I’m not very good at talking about myself, but in short, I can say that I really love traveling and the feeling of freedom. Despite being an introvert, I enjoy meeting new people and helping out when I can. I work as a music teacher, mainly with children, and I also teach piano for beginners. Teaching is something I truly enjoy, especially helping students take their first steps in music and seeing their progress. I play in various orchestral projects as a violinist, organize classical music concerts in a church in Brussels, and I’m generally open to new experiences. My native language is Russian. I speak English well and am currently learning French (my level is somewhere between B1 and B2), and I plan to learn more languages in the near future. Hi! I'm a busy student at the University of Ghent. Animals are my passion, more specifically horses. I enjoy loads of little projects and social activities. As a board member of a student organisation, I love to spend my evenings with friends in the city, doing activities or organising them. My hobbies and interests are very broad, from caring for my horse, to poledancing or ballroom dancing, to crocheting or reading a book (these last two are less prominent these days due to my busy schedule unfortunately). Went to host a workshop for Viernulvier Women and Children's First Festival back in 2023. It was my first time in Belgium. Ghent reminds me a lot of Vana Tallinn in terms of the architecture. The people were super friendly and the sweet treats were lovely. I loved taking the train.
