About me

Hey there! I’m Gretchen from sunny San Diego, California (and nope, I can’t surf—believe me, I’ve tried 😩🤣). I’m a proud mom of an awesome 25-year-old, which basically means we grew up together as besties and she was my first-ever travel buddy. Now that "mom life" isn’t the daily grind, I’m out exploring the world with a little more wisdom but still plenty of energy to chase adventures. I’m deep into the EDM scene, juggling life as a self-employed Massage Therapist, part-time bartender, and occasional content creator. When I’m not on the go, I’m chilling at home with my boyfriend and our two pups—Fernando (yes, like the ABBA song) and Jerro (named after the DJ, of course). I’m all about good vibes, spontaneous adventures, and meeting new people. If you’re down to swap travel stories, dance under festival lights, or just hang out with someone who’s friendly, fun, and loves a great laugh—I’m your girl!

Is San Diego safe for women?

Like all cities, it depends on the neighborhood and time of day, but overall San Diego is extremely safe. The beaches cater to tourists and locals alike, so there's rarely problems there especially since they banned alcohol on the beaches a few years ago. Ocean Beach has a reputation for being more grimy due to the homeless population there, but I've never had an issue with them; leave them alone and they leave you alone too mainly. Downtown is probably the least secure neighborhood but it's not as fun to stay there anyway. Even Little Italy, right next to it, is fine even in the middle of the night.
