We are a friendly community of international women living in Netherlands who connect and make friends. We welcome expats, students who study abroad, Erasmus participants, and anyone living far from home.

About me

Hello, I am Esther :) I am always in for - a good conversation - an urban exploration including visiting lots of parks, bookstores and viewpoins - jam session - having some time to read my book - spending time in a cafe on my own or with friends drinking coffee (daytime) or beer (evening/night). I would say that I live by the saying that the best things in life happen unexpectedly and (solo) traveling really proved that :) Feel free to send a message if you have any questions about NL or just feel like talking :)

About me

Hi! I’m Shai ♡ I’m a 24-year-old Au Pair from the Philippines, currently living in the Netherlands 🇳🇱. I love meeting new people and getting to know them, exploring new places, and learning or trying out anything that sparks my curiosity. I’m love listening to music 🎧ྀི, and enjoys long walks, matcha & tea is my go-to drink, i like cats too & and i enjoy being around them. i like anything that lets me enjoy small cozy moments and makes my body regulate. I consider myself a homebody, but I never say no to going out, having fun, and being spontaneous. I also love nature (beaches, mountains, quiet views—all of it.) When I run, I try to hit 5km (or more) as much as possible (but i wouldn’t say i’m sporty type of person) I’m a pornstar martini & amaretto sour girlie, I take pride in being tidy and organized (which im known for), and like most girlies, I enjoy cute and girly things. ♡ If you’re down for cafe-hopping, hangouts, brunch, drinks, or sponty adventures, I’d love to connect. And if you have recommendations, even better! I’m always excited to discover new spots and experiences. Feel free to reach out — happy to meet and chat with you! ✨

Is Netherlands safe for women?

Groningen

Personally I've never had an unsafe situation in groningen. But on Thursday to Saturday nights there's alot of parties, and dutch people aren't afraid to approach. Id recommend not persee going out very late at night. Groningen city is relatively crowded so theres always people around and near. If you go the the country side there's alot less people, I live in the country side, Personally ive never had issues walking alone late at night, in the dark. (I do recommend not walking alone persee, but it's possible)

At night it is quiet, I have never been bothered by anyone. You can travel safely with public transport. It’s a small town, so there isn’t much going on here. Eventhough it’s generally safe, it’s always good to be cautious as a woman though.
