Nashville has it’s good areas and bad areas as much as any big city. When drinking in bars always keep a close eye on drinks as roofies are becoming a prominent issue in Nashville. Walking in public crowded areas is moderately safe. Being alone in parking garages, alleyways, and parking lots are discouraged. Car break ins are fairly common in high crime areas. As a tourist I would stick to Broadway, and recommend spots by locals.

Nashville is very safe in the day. Would definitely recommend staying in more public areas after dark but still very safe. My neighborhood is quite safe to stay in but again I would walk with a friend if walking at night just for safety
Posted: February 8, 2025It’s fairly safe. Normal like any city with neighborhoods you stay out of. Stick to the main tourist attractions and the hipster spots and all will be well. Also, avoid parks after dark. Especially Centennial park!
Posted: December 26, 2024Some areas are sketchy, but there are a lot of good areas, and you're able to tell. In populated areas you can usually walk safely at night. There is public transport but it's not super connected to all parts of the city.

It depends on the area of the city. As long as you stay away from the clearly bad parts, you will not have any issue. Being on Broadway, it’s helpful to stay vigil for drunk men and wandering hands, but the sheer amount of people in the city help prevent any unsavory behavior.
Posted: December 20, 2024Like any major city, Nashville has its fair share of crime but overall people are good. Compared to somewhere like NY, the harassment is very minimal. This is due in part to it being a driving city so there are less chances to encounter someone unless it is planned. As with anywhere, you have to always mind your drink, and I would not recommend walking much of anywhere due to bad drivers.
Posted: August 6, 2024I went to Nashville in May 2025 for a weekend and I really enjoyed the city. There was so much going on and something to see in every corner. The parking situation on the other hand is horrible. You need to be very cautious to not fall for things like JUST $4 (for 30min and $20 per hour). Nashville is pretty walkable in my opinion and the coolest things you’ll see when you just take your time to wander around
Posted: June 6, 2025I went alone. I stopped on the first avenue and felt very safe. I went to various bars and listened to different types of performances. I would recommend a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry for a show, and the Ryman for a tour.
