Cebu City is a decent city especially for the working group. It is mostly safe, but given the considerably high population, it's still not 100% safe especially at night and in certain areas of the city.
Posted: June 3, 2025I was born in the Philippines, as time goes by the street becomes not safe after dark. I higly recommend if you are going to visit here make sure you connect with the locals and someone you know to assist you with your travel.
Posted: May 27, 2025I never felt uncomfortable in Siargao! It is a tight knit community of travelers and locals alike. It’s a beautiful island with incredible vibes and good people. I felt comfortable walking and driving a scooter at night.
Posted: May 14, 2025It's pretty safe. The crime level is level as it was a small province. There's not much people here. There's not really much to do here at all. Perfect for overlooking cafes and places. So pretty safe I guess.

City— it’s very alive, especially at night and people are helpful. In case of emergencies, there are many security officers that can attend to your needs and people are very alert when it comes to being accommodated well.

I did a solo trip in Siquijor mid-january this year. I felt welcomed and safe, aside from one instance where this drunk local kept pestering me to drive me home. Other than that, foreign locals and other locals helped me out of the situation. There's little to none public transport so I rent a motorbike and I can confidenly say that it is very safe to drive even at night. Locals are very easy to communicate too, and they they are all very friendly. I'll definitely go back!

Posted: February 20, 2025Travelled solo for my birthday, felt safe. I have met some locals and they were very friendly. Partying at night was good, everyone was respectful. There were policemen every station. There were affordable food options, and the hotel staff were also nice.
