I lived in Iloilo City for 4 years while I was studying in college. I can say that it's still the safest place I've ever lived in. I walked late at night or during the wee hours in the morning; as a woman, there's always fear, but I've never experienced some kind of harrassment or sexual attack -- none that I remember.

To be honest, regardless of place, it will never be 100% safe but in my experience, I usually go home late as a college student and thankfully I haven't experienced the worst yet. Although the routes I take are already familiar to me and going to crowded places is definitely safer than waiting in a dark alley.

I have been staying in Bulacan for a year now and haven't heard any heinous crimes yet since. But if there's one thing that one should be cautious about are the tricycle drivers who tend to charge too much for a fare.

You can go home alone after partying. The taxi drivers are nice and dont take advantage of you or harass you, thay keep the taxi fare meter clean also. Public transportation vehicle like jeepneys are also safe, the drivers are very friendly. As a woman, you can walk the streets at night alone, it may be in the suburbs area or the city area. 2 ladies can also go partying without being worried about their surroundings, people look out for you and dont take advantage of drunk women.

Posted: December 21, 2024Honestly not a good choice for female travelers. Especially if youre not a filipino. Its so unsafe. Ton of guys will harass you. Plus not a lot of attractions to see here so it’s not even worthwhile as a travel destination.
Posted: December 9, 2024Bohol is fairly safe. You can go anywhere with a peace of mind. Although it’s rural, there are places that are relatively lively at night. I would say scams and overcharging visitors are the main concern. It’s a worry that there’s many cases where visitors get ripped off. So just watch out for them. Locals are nice and friendly.

Metro Manila I would say is generally safe, but crime rates depend a lot on location. BGC and Makati CBD are very safe while I wouldn’t walk alone at night in places like Tondo, Quiapo, etc. In any case, stick to ares that don’t seem sketchy and always trust your gut.

Makati is such a big city that it can be hard to say exactly how safe one can be. There are so many factors involved as well as one’s baseline. I’ve always lived in cities and I think that Makati is fairly easy to navigate. I wouldn’t be brandishing around expensive devices if I was walking on the street but I think it’s possible to stop and use my phone when I need to. I would avoid deserted streets or places without streetlights but on the whole, I find that local police are pretty helpful and locals would offer help as well if I need any.

Travelled solo for my birthday, felt safe. I have met some locals and they were very friendly. Partying at night was good, everyone was respectful. There were policemen every station. There were affordable food options, and the hotel staff were also nice.

Hello everyone! I’m Gayle, 23. I am graduating from uni in June (yay) so I plan to just travel for a while after that. I’ve already been doing some traveling since January and have been to Thailand, Japan and just got back from Bali last week. I’m already set to backpack across SEA on October starting in Vietnam and just see where the journey leads me! Hoping to meet some friends along the way :)

Hi I am Sky, I am currently working as a Global Application Analyst where we implement Microsoft Dynamics across the globe. The company send me to different countries to conduct training so I get the chance to do side trips after work. I do solo travel especially during weekends to see places, culture, history, food to name a few. I would also like to host female travelers when you visit Manila, Philippines.
