It's a very safe place and convenient. I was with my ex-partner and we met Sef who was a solo traveler and a Virtual Asssistant that enable her to travel while working. It was a nice experience as she became our friend and we even went to Siquijor from Bohol by roro boat
Posted: February 9, 2026Experienced: December, 2024I travelled solo to Bohol and hands down, it was one of the best experiences. The locals are very hospitable and when they have known that I travelled solo, they connect me to people that can help me travel. The food is really tasty. However, Alona, Panglao can be a bit pricey.
Posted: September 1, 2024Experienced: July, 2024Bohol is fairly safe. You can go anywhere with a peace of mind. Although it’s rural, there are places that are relatively lively at night. I would say scams and overcharging visitors are the main concern. It’s a worry that there’s many cases where visitors get ripped off. So just watch out for them. Locals are nice and friendly.

Traveling fuels my creativity, allowing me to explore cultures, connect with people, and find artistic inspiration. ✈️I’ve visited 23 countries, immersing myself in local traditions, history, and art. ⭐️Passionate about East Asian cultures, Egyptology, photography. ⭐️All the time I'm travelling low budget. I've been cat sitter in Turkey, and au pair in Egypt. I still want to try myself in volunteering. Currently I settle down in the Philippines🇵🇭, Pangalo, so if you are looking for someone to hang out or even a place to stay - I'm always open 🙌🙏 Close to nature ☀️ - sun lover - local joker.
