Santiago is a small city. I don't recommend to go out at night alone, because a that time there's no people around and the people that are around usually are criminals. But you can go out in the day, in a normal way and also is very uncommon to be like kidnapped or stuff like that. The major probability es to get robbed.
Posted: June 27, 2024It depends on the area of the city, but touristy areas such as Via Argentina, Casco Antiguo and Cinta Costera are fairly safe for women, even after dark. Cat calling and street harrasment happen constantly, unfortunately, but it doesn't often escalate into more. Public transportation, especially the subway and uber, are very safe and reliable. I would not trust yellow taxis, especially after dark or if you are a woman who travels alone.

Pedasi is a safe and small town. Most of the time is quiete and people is in their houses by night. Most you can find is cows on the road. Drive safe and respect transit rules. Come to pedasi and enjoy the place around

You can walk in plain daylight whithout any major worry, take buses or taxis with numbers in public areas. I'm always aware of my belongings and who walks behind me, wich I think is mostly how I was raised by mother who lived in the main city, and I think isvery important if you look foreigner. Just have regular common sense is a safe latin very small city, so they'll probably will be some wistling and stares when you pass by. At night clubs and stuff like that just common security sense.

I worked as an Au Pair for 3 months in Panama City. I used the uber and the metro for transportation which worked very well. In adittion uber is very cheap here. Panama City is not a city fot working around like in Europe but there are beautiful spots to visit. The nightlife in Casco viejo is very special and you need to experience it once you are there. I met a lot of other travelers at the Selina Hostel.

I had a wonderful time in Bocas Del Toro. It’s a very small and tight knit community and everyone is so friendly! I stayed at Hotel Bocas Del Toro and had feee breakfast and coffee every morning over the ocean. I also stayed at Up the Hill on Bastimentos which was absolutely magical listening to the jungle come alive early every morning. Monkeys ran across my roof for the bananas every night. And my host made me absolutely delicious food with all home grown ingredients. Water taxis are plentiful and cheap to take you anywhere. And if you dive please check out Bocas Dive Center! They took me to gorgeous reefs and my private dive master Simon was so much fun! Bocas has something for everyone. Check it out!
