How safe is Santiago for women?

Santiago is a small city. I don't recommend to go out at night alone, because a that time there's no people around and the people that are around usually are criminals. But you can go out in the day, in a normal way and also is very uncommon to be like kidnapped or stuff like that. The major probability es to get robbed.
