It depends on the area of the city, but touristy areas such as Via Argentina, Casco Antiguo and Cinta Costera are fairly safe for women, even after dark. Cat calling and street harrasment happen constantly, unfortunately, but it doesn't often escalate into more. Public transportation, especially the subway and uber, are very safe and reliable. I would not trust yellow taxis, especially after dark or if you are a woman who travels alone.
Posted: June 10, 2024A fascinating city that blends old and new. Safety travelling solo at night can be a concern at night, so take precautions. The good was amazing. The nightlife is great too - lots of great rooftop bars.
