You can walk in plain daylight whithout any major worry, take buses or taxis with numbers in public areas. I'm always aware of my belongings and who walks behind me, wich I think is mostly how I was raised by mother who lived in the main city, and I think isvery important if you look foreigner. Just have regular common sense is a safe latin very small city, so they'll probably will be some wistling and stares when you pass by. At night clubs and stuff like that just common security sense.
