Hurghada is really very safe. I grew up there and would often take public transport to go home 1 am and I always felt really safe. The men are very respectful and when the bus is crowded during rush hour or so they would give me their chairs and stand up instead. I even once lost my wallet and it was returned to me after 2 days through a Facebook group eith everything in it. Even the money wasn't missing anything.
Posted: December 26, 2024Overall It's safe here in Egypt but also you have to take care from strangers around you , the public transportation is surely safe , also walking alone in the streets is safe but you don't have to trust anyone also

I have lived in Egypt for two years now, and I haven't been robbed, But that is because I live in New Cairo, and it's safer than other places in Egypt . But I don't advise any girl to walk alone in the night it's not very safe. they are harassing girls in the streets all the time by talking , sometimes they can come very close. Stay safe 🙏 🤍
Posted: December 25, 2024Alexandria is a very safe city and you can walk at any time in 24/7 to be honest I don't prefer walking alone after 11pm but it still safe and people are so friendly and helpful and cops is everywhere to protect you

Dahab is super safe because its such a diverse town. There are locals from all over the world and travelers visit all the time for various sports and interests. It is well secured due to its location and the people there are peaceful

There is a concerning culture of sexual assault as there is in most heteronormative societies that have sexual and religious shame. Catcalling is very common, as long as you know where you’re going and stay in good areas you’ll be safe

Although cat calling is very common here, I’d say that I generally feel very safe. Egyptians are very warm and kind, and if they see anyone in distress everyone will come running to help. Having my belongings stolen is rarely a concern. Although I have to say that this highly depends on the area you’re in; being in an area where middle to upper class people are sitting, you don’t have to be as careful. Which is why I’d say that public transport is a no go. I personally have not been on one, but I hear that metros are fine; you still have to dress modestly tho, and with that being said there are women only cars. but i would highly advise against any other form of public transport.
Posted: December 23, 2024it's generally safe but you have to keep attention to walk alone in an empty street in the darkness, apart from that everything is okay , also not keeping in mind having modest clothes to avoid any attraction.

It's fine in most places, especially the more luxurious spots, but non-Egyptians should be a bit more cautious because they tend to stand out and be more noticeable. It's not dangerous, just something to be mindful of.

Cairo is safer than people assume, pickpocketing is the thing to worry about most and maybe over priced taxis. Also, the culture in Egypt is modest in dressing, so tank tops or shorts might get you some unwanted attention. General safety precautions should be taken like not walking in deserted areas at night.

Egypt is very beautiful, the monuments are also wonderful, but it is unusual for me to have people with automatic weapons, women covered in veils, and it is sometimes unpleasant. It is more of a vacation to lie in a hotel and not to travel.
Posted: December 23, 2024Experienced: June, 2023Loved the people—so kind—and the culture. The prices are a little touristy. I tried diving in the sea; it was an amazing experience. However, the changing area was not clean enough. You can wear what you want and enjoy the restaurants and cafes by the sea.
