Like any other 3rd world country. If you’re a frequent traveler, you’ll know that nowhere is really safe, but it’s not like mafia level unsafe! 😂 just be careful where you end up. All under the traveller’s responsibility, I am not responsible for anything that happens under the traveller’s decisions.

It is indeed safe, except for catcalling and mild sexual harassment in certain areas which I strongly suggest you should stay away from specially late at night. I also suggest you have some advice from locals on where to go and where to stay away from.
Posted: February 4, 2025It is pretty safe actually, specially if you stay in a known hotel and neighberhood.. We got uber and public transportation, our tramways have cars only for women. Staying late till 12 out isn't usually a problem, specially if it is somewhere where a lot of people go.
Posted: February 3, 2025Cairo is very safe with lots of good places to visit. however Cairo is very big and safety levels are very various depending on your location. Some places are very safe some are not but I would say keep with places that are known and tourism friendly
Posted: January 31, 2025Safety varies depending on the area you will be staying in. Safer areas to stay in: 5th settlement & Zayed, maadi, zamalek, west al balad (very historical and beautiful, still very safe but the least safe on the list) ofcourse there are other neighborhoods but I just mentioned the safest ones
Posted: January 30, 2025Cairo is safe for most. Female travelers should be aware of the potential for sexual harassment. Dressing modestly, and keeping belongings safe in busier areas, and avoiding walking alone at night can help reduce the risk
Posted: January 30, 2025Pretty safe especially in touristy areas just don’t go to eerie places without a local or a tour guide that’s when it gets a bit creepy stay safe girlies and watch out for creeps and scammers :)))))))
Posted: January 30, 2025It's kinda safe but there are always these accidents and kidnaps we hear about all the time in diff places that makes it so hard to feel safe , i have passed through sexual harassments using some ways of transportation so i am always trying to avoid physical touch and like having my eye on everyone around me , fear
Posted: January 27, 2025It's a safe city, and it's the capital of Egypt. The people are really kind, and they will never hurt you. Overall, if you get lost in Egypt, you can just ask anyone, and they will help you as much as they can. It's a nice country to live in.
Posted: January 26, 2025Dahab is a very safe city considering it is a travelling destination for locals and foreigners. The police make sure the place is safe for everyone. The only relatively worrying thing in the city are bedouin kids. They are trouble makers but definitely not dangerous.

Egypt was one of the countries I wanted to visit the most because of my interest in ancient civilizations. The sea and corals were really amazing, definitely go diving! Also, don't leave without going to Luxor and seeing the Valley of the Kings and the museums. The most beautiful places are in Luxor, not Cairo. As a Turkish, I had no problem eating spicy and salty food, but if your stomach is not used to it, it can be a bit uncomfortable. Finally, it is useful to dress a little more modestly and I do not recommend traveling alone for a woman.
Posted: February 4, 2025Experienced: February, 2024Such a beautiful country! But you have to be careful. Even in a group And not only for girls , be careful. For guys too. The local will try to assult and lure you into buying. Sometimes they get hostile and this creates a bas mood. But just be cautious. Even at the hotel with the staff aswell

Human. Real. Seeker. Curious (so much). Salaam!🌠 I just love to meet new people and know more about cultures and languages. I usually go out and find new places (hidden ones, especially) with my amazing family and friends, hehe. So, I can be your local guide, I guess 👀. Moreover, I love to learn about various things, such as arts, design, cooking, psychology, history, and culture. So? Let's discover it!🚶♀️ Kindly check my couchsurinf account for references: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/aamena-elshamy
