Sønderborg is very save in the means of walking around, although bikes sometimes get stolen. There has been an incident where a girl was stabbed, but in the 7 months I've lived here, it's the only thing I've heard about. Apparently there is also a drug scene, but as someone who is not involved in that kind of stuff, I have never actually noticed any of that kind. I walk around alone after dark very regularly, and others would also agree that they feel very safe. Of course you should maybe watch out when you walk by bars (drunk people are stupid), but I feel like that's a given wherever you arem
Posted: April 12, 2025Sonderborg is very safe. Kind of a small town with less than 30.000 citizens . The only time you would have to worry about safety is after dark, walking alone in areas where other people can’t be seen. And even then, I would consider it safe

Hi, I'm Ina and I am 18 years old. I am from Germany but currently live in Denmark to study. I love travelling and really enjoy meeting new people and exploring new cultures. I like to read, paint, go to museums and try out new things :D I am always open for a chat, a coffee (or tea), and a nice sight. Sadly my student apartment doesn't allow for me to host, but I'd still love to chat with some of you!
